It's the first time in the history of the world.

Oh, my God! Did Apple's new system leave a mouthful for third-party AI?

Just today, iOS 27 was officially launched.

On the same day that hundreds of millions of iPhones around the world received a simultaneous update tip, a developer took a step forward to unravel the secret holes in Apple's system.

Siri's brain, you can change it!

Just yesterday, the developer @itspdfu posted two xs.

He summoned Siri's "Ask"... menu in iOS 27 and macOS 27 and added a name to the option: Claude.

The real machine is running.

Apple hasn't officially announced the interface yet, but it's actually hidden in the system.

In fact, Apple left behind a whole door.

A private interfaceOpened Siri's brains

The gate has a nickname, Model Delegation, and is called "Model Commissions".

Simply put, after Siri gets a word from you, you can take this "think about what to do" step and outsource it to another AI.

Sounds familiar? Yes, Apple's existing ChatGPT integration is the one that goes to the bottom.

What blogger @itspdfu has done is prove that this is the path Claude can take.

He writes on the MacRumors forum about specific practices: hanging a local background program on a Mac, Siri passes the request, and the program calls Claude's command line tool and sends it back to the original route.

After that, Claude can get Siri's questions and context, and then send the text, files, and suggestions back in a streamlined manner.

There is a particularly intuitive contrast in the presentation. Let Siri make a CSV table, Siri can't do it with both hands.

The same needs, the same system, the same brain, the results are very different.

Claude is responsible for thinking, Siri is responsible for moving.

But the real explanation for the problem, not the CSV table, is the "warning" step.

Claude understands that you have to set the alert, but it has no authority to set it itself. It can only return a well-ordered request to Siri and then call App Intents from Siri.

App Intents can understand how Apple keeps a calendar of remote control buttons, reminders, bell bells, and message logs on each app, each with a row of buttons.

But only Siri can press these buttons.

That's what it's all about. Claude is in charge of thinking, Siri is in charge of moving.

The third-party model is smarter and only qualifies as "out of the box".

But that's not the worst. @itspdfu's second demo video went straight to the extreme. He wrote an expansion that replaces the entire model of the Siri AI cloud with GPT-5.6 Terra.

GPT-5.6 comes with a list of Apple-native task planning instructions and tools that can manipulate the tools to execute system actions and finally answer you with Siri's interface and voice.

More importantly, the background of OpenAI actually shows these request records, real calls.

Siri AI has only one limited-capacity programmer, called Skimmer, and most of the tasks would have to be handled by Apple's servers.

This time it was the brain that was thinking on the server that was replaced.

In the comments section, some netizens summarized the essence of the new Siri in one sentence:Siri has evolved from a model to a plug-in.

In January, Bloomberg reporter Gurman made a big splash on a podcast: Apple had intended to re-create Siri around Claude. Gurman originally said, "Apple is actually planning to re-create Siri around Claude, but Anthropic is roasting them on fire".

图片

The reason for the collapse was to make money.

Anthropic costs billions of dollars a year, and will double every year for the next three years.

Apple eventually signed a deal with Google to replace Siri with Gemini for about $1 billion a year. In contrast, Gemini was simply a discount promotion.

But the story is not over. In May this year, Gurman made another breakthrough: iOS 27 plans to allow users to choose Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT in Siri, and the App Store to separate an AI model partition.

Now, the developers have opened a hole in this closed door.

Claude, who was ostracized by Apple that year, appeared on the system menu himself.

This is the "true law of smell" in the tech world.

Apple is not the strongest modelHow to be a charging station in an AI age

Networker Jay Zhou said: "It's cheap to change a model, and it's getting cheaper every year".

Another netizen said more directly: "The mobile phone is becoming a router between models. Who receives the first request after the user opens the door is more able to decide where the traffic goes than the model company".

Apple obviously wants to understand the bill.

It didn't have to make the smartest model, so it spent a billion dollars to buy Gemini as the default engine and then give it to ChatGPT, Claude.

It's a model of who's forcing who, but it doesn't give out phone records, calendars, app calls, device permissions, like Apple does.

Apple has been chasing the big model for two years, always shooting slowly. It seems clear that the battle cannot be fought at the model level.

It's another thing: the first sentence you say to your iPhone, the personal data you have on your phone, every app you can move.

GPT, Claude, Gemini can line up at the bottom of the rationale.

In the ASI era, the smartest models could come from any company. But the role of pressing the button for you is not going to be given to anyone.
