ChatGPT is selling a $500 Pro Max package!

It's the first time in the history of the world.

ChatGPT is also coming out on Pro Max.

OpenAI is preparing a ChatGPT Pro Max for up to $500 a month, which is 2.5 times the price of the current top-tier, with the core seller saying only one word: "The fastest work with Codex".

It is estimated that the $600 mark here contains a 20% "channel tax".

Two weeks ago, it had just cancelled a new subscription to the $200 Pro series due to the clutter of the GPT-6 Astra;

Behind the Astra, a stronger model of the millennium-old puzzle, given by Navier von Stokes, is waiting in line to enter.

As the most advanced productivity tools become more expensive, a realistic question is asked:Will the next generation of truly groundbreaking intelligence become the privilege of only the highest bidder?

$500, what do you buy?

On September 24, developer Tibor Blaho and the explosive website TestingCatalog found traces of Pro Max in a previously unpublished front-end configuration in ChatGPT: a monthly fee of $500, with the main feature labelled as "Fastest Work with Codex".

If it goes live, it will directly surpass Claude Max ($250) and Google AI Ultra ($250 or so) as the new ceiling for mainstream individual AI subscriptions.

Unlike in the past, this premium is no longer purchased in terms of usage, but in terms of computational priority.

Previously, from $100 to $200, users switched to 5 to 20 times the amount of calls they received from Plus.

The Pro Max is aimed at time-consuming work and Codex-class complex task dynamics that run continuously for several hours, with low latency directly equivalent to profits in a gravity productivity scenario.

There has been speculation that its underpinnings may have access to the Cerebras low-latency hardware that OpenAI has been testing.

Astra is starving at the bottom of the calculating pool.

The direct cause of the rise in prices is the calculation of the discount rate.

Launched on 3 September, the GPT-6 Astra has the ability to directly control the Agent system, which is far more powerful than its predecessor.

On September 10, just a week after its launch, OpenAI urgently suspended new subscriptions to the $200 Pro category.

Tibo, who is responsible for ChatGPT and Codex's business, has publicly stated that the ranking is "the biggest strain on the system" and that OpenAI has not yet given a recovery timeline.

Business logic calculators are not difficult to understand.

The $200 bill has become a "heavy diner" for poachers and professional organizations, and the platform is actually bearing subsidy losses.

Instead of allowing the system to be dragged by this part of the extreme usage, OpenAI is better suited to cutting off a barrier that is priced closer to the real cost of reasoning.

The world's top smartphones are being priced at $25 billion

The GPT-6 Astra is just an appetizer.

Officials have previously revealed that the overall performance of its latest internal model is "significantly stronger than Astra", breaking the Navier-Stokes equation.

The industry's distribution path to frontline capabilities is diverging: OpenAI tends to be segmented by commercial price while Anthropic tends to be more focused on security risks and identity access limits.

The latest update to Claude's official documentation shows that Opus 5.5 will automatically downgrade high-risk tasks involving offensive cybersecurity, dual-purpose organisms, and other tasks to lightweight model processing, and can only be unblocked by strictly authenticated users.

It's also a good idea.Opus 5.5 also detects whether AI is at the forefront of AI research, detecting improvisational intelligence, and refusing "to make a wedding dress for others".

USD 500 per month (US$3,352), almost in advance, delineated the boundary: it belongs only to enterprises, institutions or a very small number of individuals with high volatility capabilities.

If the future core breakthrough of the Bel-level were eventually only open to groups that cost $500 or more, technological decentralization would likely accelerate the transformation into a reality where the people with the wealth of money use top-notch reasoning to roll the snowball, leaving ordinary users below the mass benchmark.

But it's also a cold commercial reality.

OpenAI is not a non-profit organization, and depreciation and electricity are hard costs for the frontline clusters.

In the same week, OpenAI also cut the API price of the lightweight model GPT-6 Sol and Luna in half.

Popular intelligence is still undergoing a rapidly declining deflation, a real inflation frenzy, and it's always just a very scarce precursor to the top of the pyramid.

DevDay is still pending next week

DevDay, next Tuesday in U.S. time, will be the earliest possible launch of the Pro Max, along with a rumored $50 new package for the OpenAI Platform.

There were three verification points left to the outside world: whether the $500 price tag finally landed, when the $200 file was dismantled, and what the real next-generation Bel would come at.

After the first DevDay in 2023, OpenAI had to shut down subscription entrances for $20 Plus due to sudden traffic overloads.

Three years later, the new DevDay has not yet opened, and the $200 door has already closed early.

After the door was closed, a new $500 gate was quietly written into the code.
