On the morning of September 17, the ninth China Robotics Summit Main Forum opened in Hangzhou's Future Technology City. The summit was organized by the China Association for Mechanical Integration Technology Applications, the Zhejiang University of Robotics Research Institute, the Zhejiang University of Robotics Technology and Applications, the Hangzhou City Center for Innovative Robotics Industry in Hangzhou, the China Association for Mechanical Integration Technology Applications, the Zhejiang Province Association for the Development of the Robotics Industry, and the China University of Computing.
The second-level inspector of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science, Liu Cheng, Vice-Director of the Hangzhou City Trust Office, Li Ming Matsun, Prof. Zhujiang, and Prof. Sun Lining, expert in the special group of experts on the national research and development program for the development of intelligent robots, Prof. Han Ji-da, Prof. Zhang Zhen, Prof. Chen Zheng, Prof. Li Liu, Director of the Zhejiang Institute of Technology, and others attended the meeting.
Members of the Zhejiang Provincial Transmission Hall Party Group, Vice-Director Zhang Jia, Vice-Director of the Northern Institute of Information and Technology, Han Xiang, and Chairman of the China Association of Applications for Mechanical Engineering and Integrated Technology, Tao Quqi, spoke. The guests at the meeting agreed that the robotics industry is accelerating from the demonstration of silicon technology to the application of silicon to the scale of silicon.
During the forum, several important achievements were announced: the launch of the first round of collaboration between universities, colleges, hospitals and industry chains to promote China's production research and collaboration in fostering the development of robotics collaboration and innovation platforms; the launch of the Intelligent Body Competition in China's university-level intelligent robotics creative competitions; the release of the 2026 China Smart Industry Overseas Research Report in the form of a video, which proposed the strategic decision-making process for the production of silicon products in compliance with the technology of silicon wind controlled silicon market; the introduction of the five-layer framework and four-phase development trajectory of silicon; the official release of the framework for the assessment of robotic intelligence, establishing a unified rating scale for the industry.
In the main report, several expert academics shared the latest research findings and industry insights on topics such as artificial intelligence empowering artificial intelligence manufacturing, multi-modal artificial intelligence from the cloud brain to the physical world, perceptive decision-making and chain-driven landing, and other topics. The roundtable was chaired by Dr. Dong Kai, Director of the Department of Science and Technology at the Syed Institute of Technology in the Ministry of Industry and Communications.
On the afternoon of the 17th, the summit set a parallel agenda for five thematic sub-forums, namely bio-robots, nutritional robots, and the third meeting of the Human Robot Detection Certification Working Group 2026. The summit is expected to bring together more than 50 associations and research institutes, more than 500 industry experts, more than 2000 industry representatives, connect more than 100 media resources, 35 exhibiting companies covering industry, service humanoids, key components and the five largest exhibition areas of intelligent infrastructure.
